For the next six days, the senior resident of the Heythrop Institute will depend on you for deliveries of parcels from the North Pole
Santa Claus needs volunteers …
The North Pole is in dire need of volunteers. Starting on Wednesday morning, £180,000 in presents will be delivered from the grotto through all of the UK to residents at eight nursing homes, social care homes and family-orientated long-term care homes across the country. Starting with the senior resident of the Heythrop Institute in London, the presents will be delivered to children aged four to 15 for Christmas.
“We’ve assembled a team of elves and will be wearing their uniforms,” says William Honan, co-ordinator of the scheme, which is run by the health and social care organisation, the Association of Directors of Adult Social Services. “We’re looking for experienced volunteers and we’ll be checking if they can drive. If you think you can help, drop an ornament or money in the Grotto at Heythrop and we’ll make sure you get some presents.”
Information packs and applications are available from Heythrop and GP surgeries across the country.
