Kim Kardashian robbery was well-planned, prosecutor says

Kim Kardashian West was robbed of $10 million worth of jewelry in Paris in 2016 by six men who stole her cell phone, but not before freeing her of the silk cuffs and lace engagement ring that had given her West’s infamous “Kardashian Effect.”

Some of the more than 100 witnesses called to court during the trial of the suspects were reality television star Kardashian West and actress Salma Hayek, who is divorced from French President Emmanuel Macron’s father.

“They were watching the jewels like they would a movie,” testified Dominique Aquino, one of the jewelry store’s employees present on the night of the incident.

More than 200 journalists were present at the hearing.

Six suspects are on trial, facing up to 10 years in prison each.

During the trial, prosecutor Fabienne Lafforgue recounted the circumstances of the robbery in French media, calling it a “well-planned criminal network.”

The defendants are several from France but also South Korea, Portugal, Mexico and Britain.

“We are trying to reconstruct the facts of the robbery of Kardashian West,” Lafforgue said in a French TV interview last month.

The gang of robbers broke into the residence where the reality star was living at during Paris Fashion Week.

Kardashian West was working from the flat, filming for her reality show “Keeping Up With the Kardashians,” according to reports.
