Disney Channel star Joe Exotic moved to Utah for cancer treatment

Joe Exotic, star of the Disney Channel series “Tiger King,” was transferred on Thursday to a federal medical center in Utah for treatment of brain and lung cancer, authorities said.

Exotic, who also appeared in the television series “So Random!” and appears in the Nickelodeon series “Road to Vegas,” was first hospitalized a month ago for abdominal pains. Tests showed he was suffering from laryngitis, but his condition deteriorated this week and doctors discovered multiple tumor masses, the Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office said in a news release.

The entertainment star has been receiving treatment at a local hospital. He has also been transferred to a care facility in Salt Lake City where he is continuing his treatment, the sheriff’s office said.

Exotic was diagnosed with cancer in 2011, when he underwent treatment at UCLA Medical Center for bronchial adenocarcinoma, according to his publicist, Robert L. Shapiro.
